Here is what a past EquiNine client and clinic attendee had to say about Mary Kay Adams and her approach to horses and riders:
"I appreciated all that you had to do to teach us all day. I loved the pattern work. This clinic was exceptional for Buddy and me and you do a great job teaching us building blocks and helping me "understand" what is a try, what is a refusal, what's a poor cue, what is a "horseism" (when he buddy's up), appreciating the little steps of progress we make, recognizing when an issue comes up its better to forget the pattern and correct the problem, to firstmost thank your horse when he tries and to just have fun. I even appreciate being told my cues might be lazy and inconsistent and having you take away my toys (the crop)!
"You know me well enough to understand how hard it is to get saddle time in. I work between 8.5 to 10 hours a day, and I still have responsibilities at home and camp. Its a tough balancing act sometimes. Having a schedule is great as nothing else will get penciled in. Its also nice to know Buddy can be out to pasture for a month, and put in a great effort at a clinic. It builds my confidence in him to see him so relaxed.
"I will come to any clinic you are willing to put on! You are a perfect match for my needs. Not having grown up as a rider, there is a lot that doesn't come naturally at my age. I can still be a visual learner, and it is neat that you bring a demo horse to show us. That isn't always the case with other trainers who stand in the middle of the ring and have to verbalize what they want you to do. Next time, I'd like to return to some of the work we did and combine it into the pattern work. Lifting the shoulders, neck reining, etc. And talk about engaging the hind quarters. I just had the best time ..."
